Imisi’s BBNaija Triumph Sparks Mixed Reactions Online

Date:

Big Brother Naija Season 10 came to a dramatic end on Sunday as Imisi clinched the top prize, securing 42.8% of the total votes — almost three times more than her closest rival, Dede, who finished with 15.94%. The reality star’s emphatic win has since stirred lively debate across social media.

According to official figures shared by the organisers, other finalists trailed far behind: Koyin (15.23%), Sultana (7.94%), Kola (5.48%), Jason Jae (4.24%), Mensan (3.54%), Isabella (3.07%), and Kaybobo (1.72%).

While fans celebrated her victory, critics claimed Imisi’s win was influenced by “pity votes.” On X (formerly Twitter), some users argued that Nigerians often reward emotional storylines over merit. One user, Mackie4reall, wrote, “Imisi winning #BBNaija says a lot about what we celebrate in this country — drama over intelligence.” Others echoed the sentiment, suggesting her triumph was a “charity win.”

However, many viewers quickly came to her defence, praising her authenticity and resilience throughout the 10-week show. User symply_kimm argued, “Which one is pity vote? Imisi did the most in that house to win that money. She is very deserving of her win!”

Another fan, uzezzi_ (Baby Lion), who initially supported Dede, admitted, “I wanted Dede to win, but Imisi didn’t win out of pity. She fought her way through every challenge and stayed true to herself.”

Supporters also described Imisi as “the full package” — funny, bold, flawed, and entertaining. kofoworola_aa added, “No ship, no pity party, no poverty strategy — just pure entertainment. A wholesome winner and 10/10 housemate.”

Still, a few viewers hinted at possible foul play, alleging that disqualified housemate Faith might have altered the results if he had remained in the game. Faith was expelled on October 2, 2025, after a physical altercation with Sultana.

Despite the controversy, Imisi’s landslide win cements her status as the fourth female and second-youngest Big Brother Naija champion — a victory many fans believe reflects her charm, wit, and authenticity that kept audiences hooked all season.
