Nottingham Forest are considering Jose Mourinho, Ange Postecoglou, and Marco Silva as potential successors to Nuno Espírito Santo, who was dismissed as head coach late on Monday night.
The club parted ways with Nuno less than two weeks after their 3-0 home defeat to West Ham United, a result that intensified pressure on his tenure.
According to talkSPORT transfer insider Alex Crook, Forest’s hierarchy have identified three names on their shortlist. Mourinho, recently dismissed by Turkish side Fenerbahçe, has emerged as a candidate, alongside Tottenham Hotspur manager Postecoglou and Fulham boss Silva.
Crook noted on X (formerly Twitter) that Postecoglou is considered an early frontrunner, while Silva is also highly rated by the club’s leadership. However, there are suggestions the ownership group — led by Evangelos Marinakis and sporting director Edu — may prefer a more progressive playing style, something they reportedly felt Nuno failed to deliver.
The decision on who takes charge could prove pivotal as Forest look to steady their Premier League campaign.
