The Kebbi State Government has dissolved the Governing Council of the Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology following recommendations from a visitation panel that reviewed the institutionās operations.
The decision was approved during a meeting of the State Executive Council and announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida.
As part of the sweeping changes, the government also relieved the Vice Chancellor and both Deputy Vice Chancellors (Academic and Administration) of their duties. The Registrar and Bursar were also removed, alongside the termination of the appointment of Abba Mohammed Adua.
To ensure continuity, the government appointed Samaila Arzika Mungadi as Sole Administrator of the university. He is expected to oversee the institutionās affairs pending the reconstitution of a new Governing Council and appointment of new principal officers.
The restructuring takes immediate effect from April 30, 2026.
The state government said the action follows the findings of the visitation panel, though specific details of the report were not disclosed in the statement.
