Kwara CP assures residents of safety during Eid-el-Fitr celebration

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, CP Victor Olaiya, has disclosed that adequate measures have been provided to ensure the safety and security of everyone during the Eid el-Fitr celebration.

He noted that officers and men of the State Police Command have been deployed around the state to ensure the safety of citizens adding that, “Tactical teams are working assiduously to prevent crimes of all kinds, ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for all residents.”
Olaiya stated this in a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, on Tuesday, stressing that, “CP Victor Olaiya extends his greetings and felicitations to all Muslim faithfuls on the occasion of the 1445AH/2024.”
According to the statement, “el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, is a time of spiritual reflection, gratitude, and celebration for the Muslim community worldwide. It is a period that signifies the values of forgiveness, sacrifice, compassion, and unity.
“He urges members of the public to report suspicious activities or incidents to the nearest police station or through the Command Control number: 07032069501 or 08125275046.”
Speaking further, the statement added that, “The Commissioner of police reaffirms his commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents during and after this festive period. As always, we urge everyone to continue to promote peace, understanding, and tolerance within our diverse communities.”
