Kwara Govt reaffirms commitment to supporting NOA

Date:

The Kwara State Government has restated its readiness to continue supporting the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in carrying out its mandate of civic education, value reorientation, and public enlightenment across the state.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Jibril Mamman Saba, gave the assurance while receiving the management team of the agency in his office.

Prof. Saba underscored the importance of NOA’s role in addressing pressing social challenges, particularly among young people.

“We are in an era where a lot of things are going wrong in our society. From criminality to drug abuse, thuggery, and other antisocial behaviours, which are rampant, especially among our youths. Some of these crimes require the intervention of agencies like NOA to be nipped in the bud,” he said.

He pledged that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration would provide the necessary support for NOA to function effectively.

“Since you are here to serve the people of Kwara, this administration will continue to stand by you, just as it has been supporting other federal agencies operating in the state,” he assured.

The Permanent Secretary, General Service in the Office of the SSG, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Shuaib Yitta, also reaffirmed the government’s willingness to assist federal agencies in Kwara. He advised NOA to submit its requests through appropriate channels for timely attention.

Earlier, the State Director of NOA, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Dare, commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his inclusive style of governance and massive infrastructural development. While acknowledging the support already being enjoyed, he appealed for additional assistance to strengthen the agency’s interventions in the face of growing societal challenges.

The meeting, according to stakeholders, highlights the growing partnership between the Kwara State Government and NOA in tackling social issues and instilling positive values among citizens.
