U-17 WWCQ: Flamingos Begin Preparations with Local Club Friendlies

Date:

Nigeria’s Flamingos will play friendly matches against Generation Next and Nazareth Queens this weekend as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Guinea.

The matches are scheduled to hold at the Gold Project Pitch in Abuja on Saturday and Sunday, providing the team with competitive tune-up games ahead of the continental assignment.

Head coach Akeem Busari has invited 36 players to camp for the first phase of preparation, with the squad currently lodged at the Serob Legacy Hotel in Abuja.

The friendlies form part of efforts to fine-tune tactics and assess player readiness ahead of the second-round qualifying fixtures.

Guinea will host the first leg in Conakry between May 22 and 24, while Nigeria will host the return leg on May 30.
