Kwara Gov AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Donates N90m to Fallen Heroes, Injured Troops After Attack

Date:

The Kwara State Government has announced a donation of N20 million to each family of soldiers killed during a counter-terrorism operation in Kemanji, Kaiama Local Government Area. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq also approved N5 million for each of the six soldiers injured in the attack, describing the sacrifices of security personnel as invaluable.

The governor made the announcement on Tuesday after visiting the injured soldiers at the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital in Ilorin, where he commended the quality of care and medical facilities. He expressed gratitude to the security forces for their dedication to protecting lives and property.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when terrorists launched a pre-dawn assault on a Nigerian Army camp in Kemanji. Troops successfully repelled the attackers, preventing any abduction of civilians and inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists.

Despite the successful defense, three soldiers lost their lives in the fierce encounter. Governor AbdulRazaq extended his condolences to the bereaved families, describing the fallen soldiers as courageous men who paid the supreme price in service to the nation.

He assured that the state government would continue to support the families of the deceased and remain committed to strengthening security efforts, emphasizing that no resources would be spared in safeguarding communities across the state.
