Bode George Calls on Gbajabiamila to Retract, Apologize for ADC Statement

Date:

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has called on Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, to publicly apologise over remarks linked to internal politics within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The controversy stems from a viral video in which Gbajabiamila was seen speaking at a birthday event hosted by House of Representatives member Leke Abejide, where he reportedly encouraged a faction of the ADC led by Nafiu Gombe and Abejide to sustain internal disruptions within the party.

Gbajabiamila also praised Abejide’s contributions to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and advised him to ignore pressure from party members urging his formal defection to the ruling party, comments that have since triggered political backlash.

Reacting during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Bode George described the remarks as inappropriate and a “monumental political mistake,” insisting that Gbajabiamila must retract them and issue a public apology.

While expressing personal respect for the presidential aide, George maintained that the statement was unacceptable, stressing that public accountability was necessary despite their close relationship.
