Chief Imam of Lafiagi, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi Kolobigi II, has condemned attempts by some political profiteers to politicize the daily Ramadan lecture of the Lafiagi Emirate, held at the Lafiagi Central Mosque.
In a personally signed statement, the Chief Imam expressed disappointment at a press statement misrepresenting the daily Tafsir (Ramadan lecture) as a special political prayer for Senator Saliu Mustapha.
Imam Ibrahim warned perpetrators to pursue political agendas through noble means, not misrepresentation, especially involving Ulamas.
“This is the month of Ramadan, where our actions should be guided by sincerity. Attempting to gain political capital through deceptive means should be refrained from in this holy month and beyond.”
