Mahfouz Adedimeji gets new appointment at UNILORIN

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has approved the appointment of Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji as the new Chairman Editorial Board for the institution’s weekly newsletter, UNILORIN BULLETIN.

UNILORIN’s Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, in a memo, explained that the tenure of the Board began immediately.

He noted that the Director of Corporate Affairs of the University, Mr Kunle Akogun, would serve as its Secretary.

ROYAL NEWS reports that other members of the Board are Prof. Mary Esere of the Department of Counsellor Education; Prof. K. A. Rafiu of the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, Dr Oba Abdulkadir Laaro.

The Board also consists of the Head of the Department of Islamic Law, Dr Azizat Amoloye-Adebayo; and Mr Yunus Abdulmuqtadir of the Computer Management Services and Information Technology (COMSIT).

Mr. Alfanla explained that the duties of the Board include the formulation of policy direction for the proper operation of the publication, ensuring regular publication of the newsletter as well as ensuring its proper editing/ proof-editing.

Other duties of the Editorial Board, according to the Registrar, are to advise the University management on any policy issue that would ensure the seamless publication of the newsletter and make other relevant recommendations that can assist the University.

The Board, whose tenure would end on July 31, 2027, is expected to submit its annual report to the Vice Chancellor of the University by July 31 every year or as at when required.

The Registrar wished the Chairman and other members of the Board a very peaceful, rewarding and fulfilling tenure.

Recalled that Adedimeji had served as the Head of UNILORIN’s Directorate of Corporate Affairs and pioneer Vice Chancellor of the Ahman Pategi University, Prof. Mahfouz Adebola Adedimeji, before his recent appointment as a member of the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) by President Bola Tinubu.
