Ministry of Finance Honours Staff for Commitment, Dedication

The Kwara State Ministry of Finance has honoured and celebrated its staff for outstanding commitment, dedication, and excellence in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking at the Ministry’s end-of-year get-together held at the Ministry of Finance Conference Room in Ilorin, the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, commended the staff for their hard work and professionalism. She described staff recognition as a critical driver of morale, motivation, and productivity in the public service.

The Commissioner disclosed that the achievements recorded by the Ministry are made possible by the unwavering support of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whose firm commitment to service delivery, transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management has continued to strengthen public institutions and improve governance outcomes across the State.

She reaffirmed the Ministry’s resolve to remain a leading service-delivery institution through open, transparent, accountable, and efficient management of the State’s finances, in line with the administration’s development priorities. According to her, the Ministry “remains committed to building a highly professional and competent workforce capable of driving economic growth and sustainable development in Kwara State”.

The Commissioner also acknowledged the sterling leadership of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mallam Folorunsho Abdulrazaq, State Accountant General, Mallam AbdulGaniyu Sani, and other members of the management team for their dedication to achieving Government’s policy objectives.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Mallam Folorunsho Abdulrazaq, applauded the strong collaboration among the Commissioner, Accountant General, management, and staff of the Ministry. He expressed appreciation to Dr. Hauwa Nuru for her vision and leadership in promoting professionalism and excellence within the Ministry.

He noted that the get-together was an opportunity to celebrate the discipline, commitment, and professionalism consistently demonstrated by staff, adding that excellence in service should inspire even greater responsibility and leadership by example.

In his remarks, the State Accountant General, Mallam AbdulGaniyu Sani, thanked staff for their unwavering support, dedication and teamwork over the past years, noting that their collective efforts have significantly improved service delivery to the public. He urged staff to sustain the momentum and continue upholding high standards of professionalism and collaboration in the coming year.

Giving the vote of thanks, the Director of Finance and Supply, Mr. Amos Tunde Thompson, expressed deep gratitude to the Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary for their continuous support and encouragement, describing the recognition as a strong motivation for both frontline and administrative staff. He called on all departments to deepen coordination, innovation, and accountability to further enhance service delivery.

The event also featured the recognition of staff who demonstrated exceptional commitment, innovation, and excellence. Award recipients included the:
Most Hardworking Staff: Mrs. AbdulGaniyu Manjo Shakirat and Mrs. Rasaq Taiye Risikat,
Most Punctual Staff: Mr. Olorundare Adeniyi, Mallam Aliu Bayo, and Mrs. Abdulrahman Bola

The get-together was concluded with a renewed commitment by staff to uphold the values of service, transparency, and accountability in line with the vision of the present administration.
