Mr P Postpones Birthday Celebration Following Rift with Twin Brother

Date:

Nigerian music star Peter Okoye has announced a change to the date he celebrates his birthday, stating that November 18 will no longer serve as his official celebration date. He made the announcement in a post shared on his X handle, noting that the new date will now be November 30.

In the post, Mr P clarified that the decision is personal and instructed fans not to send messages or gifts on the former date. He added that he would no longer recognise November 18 as his birthday celebration day, asking for public understanding.

Although he did not give a specific reason for the change, the announcement has drawn attention due to his long-standing rift with his twin brother, Paul Okoye. The two rose to fame as members of the music duo P-Square.

The brothers’ relationship began to deteriorate around 2015 over disagreements involving management, finances, and the role of their elder brother, Jude Okoye. The group eventually split in 2017 before briefly reuniting in 2021.

Despite the reunion, reports of renewed tensions over royalties and business matters have persisted. Mr P’s latest decision has now sparked fresh reactions among fans, with many linking the birthday change to unresolved family issues.
