National grid collapses again, Nigerians call for Adelabu’s sack

For the second time in a space of one week, Nigeria was on Thursday plunged into darkness as the country’s national grid collapsed again.

The disruption occurred around 11:20am on Thursday.

This was confirmed on X by Nigeria National Grid via @NationalGridNg

This is the second time the grid has collapsed this week and the twelveth time in the last eleven months.

The development has stirred mixed reactions on social media among Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the Transmission Company of Nigeria has not issued an official statement on the reason the grid collapsed again on Thursday.

However, recall that TCN blamed the grid collapse on lines and generator trips on Tuesday.

This comes as the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu on Wednesday received an investigative report on the incessant grid collpase in Nigeria. Although, the details have not been unveiled to the public.

It would be recalled that Nigerians recently called for the sack of Adelabu over incessant grid collpases.
