
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), has reiterate its commitment to providing
better, undiluted train services on the Warri-Itakpe train line based on the principles of fairness and trustworthiness.
The Coordinator, Warri-Itakpe train service, Engr Sanni Abdulganiyu, stated this in a statement on Tuesday, adding that the management is aware of recent reports about issues around ticket sales and pricing involving some of the station’s staff.
“We understand the public’s frustration and share in your disappointment over these incidents. Providing a fair and trustworthy service is our top priority, and we’re committed to making things right.”
Abdulganiyu noted that the management is working assiduously to put a stop to such practices, as internal review processes is already put in to address misconduct, while any erring staff or persons found wanting would be held accountable.
“We have been actively working to prevent such issues, and in light of these reports, we’re increasing our efforts. An internal review is underway to address misconduct, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable.
“We are also stepping up monitoring and improving our ticketing process to prevent overcharging and make our services more transparent.”
He urged passengers to have confidence in the service provided by the station with emphasis on setting up hotlines for complains when issues are experienced with e-ticketing, and easy reporting and resolution of ticketing issues.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to earn back your trust,” he said.
