Nigerian Army Neutralises 63 Boko Haram, ISWAP Fighters in Borno

Date:

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the killing of about 63 terrorists suspected to be members of Boko Haram and ISWAP in Mallam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State. The development was disclosed alongside video evidence showing the aftermath of the operation.

According to the Army, the insurgents were neutralised on Wednesday morning after launching a coordinated attack on the 68 Battalion Main Defensive Area. The attackers reportedly attempted to breach the military formation but were repelled by troops.

The Army said the assailants advanced on foot from the Duguri axis, supported by multiple armed drones, but were overpowered by defensive firepower.

Following the encounter, troops have begun follow-up operations to track and eliminate fleeing fighters, while surveillance platforms are being deployed to monitor escape routes and prevent regrouping.

Video footage shared by the Army showed several bodies of the suspected terrorists at the scene, underscoring the scale of the clash.
