Date:

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, prosecuted 125 cases involving rape, vandalism, theft, murder, culpable homicide and other offences between January and December 2025.

The state Commandant, Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the command’s achievements and challenges during the outgoing year.

Ingawa said the command adopted a more proactive crime prevention strategy, which contributed to a reduction in criminal activities compared with 2024.

He added that over 9,000 private security guards were trained during the year to enhance school security and protect other public and private facilities across the state.

According to him, the command also foiled more than 30 attempted acts of vandalism targeting power lines, water facilities and other critical public infrastructure, leading to several recoveries.

The commandant acknowledged the support of the Jigawa State Government, collaboration with sister security agencies and cooperation from members of the public.

He reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to maintaining sustainable peace and security in Jigawa State and across the country.
