The Obajisun of Ayedun Kingdom, Oba Dr. Olusegun Rotimi Abayomi JP, has extended profound congratulations to the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, on the occasion of his 86th birthday.
Oba Rotimi in a goodwill message issued on Tuesday stated that this milestone is not only a personal celebration for the Emir and his immediate family, but also a moment of collective pride and gratitude for the entire Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and the nation at large.
According to him, “Over the years, His Royal Highness has distinguished himself as a custodian of culture, a promoter of peace, and a symbol of dignified traditional leadership whose influence transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.”
He added that, “His reign has been marked by stability, wisdom, tolerance, and an unrelenting commitment to fostering unity among diverse ethnic, religious, and cultural groups. Through his guidance, Ilorin has continued to be recognized as a beacon of harmony and coexistence in Nigeria.
“At 86, His Royal Highness stands as a living testament to resilience, wisdom, and grace. His life story remains a source of inspiration to traditional rulers and leaders across Nigeria. The Emir as a bridge-builder whose reign has strengthened relationships between traditional institutions and modern governance, fostering cooperation for the overall good of the people.
“The people of Ayedun Kingdom share in this celebration with a deep sense of admiration and appreciation for the Emir’s enduring legacy. The historical and cultural ties between Ayedun and Ilorin Emirate further underscore the significance of this celebration, as both communities continue to enjoy cordial relations rooted in mutual respect and shared values.”
