Onyeka Urges NFF to Retain Super Eagles Coach Eric Chelle

Date:

Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has appealed to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) not to part ways with head coach Eric Chelle, citing the coach’s strong relationship with players and clear tactical approach.

Onyeka said Chelle has made a positive impression since taking charge of the national team, earning the respect and admiration of many players in the squad.

Chelle, who signed a two-year contract with the NFF midway through the term, is expected to see his deal expire in January 2027 unless renewed.

Speaking in an interview with Oma Akatugba, Onyeka praised the coach’s personality and leadership style.

“When Chelle took charge of the Super Eagles, you could see his game plan and tactics,” Onyeka said.

“He’s a good and lovely man, someone you feel comfortable around. He is very open-minded and gives everyone the opportunity they deserve.”

According to the midfielder, Chelle enjoys strong support within the squad.

“A lot of the Super Eagles players love him so much,” Onyeka added. “Don’t let him go.”
