Over 2,000 PDP Members Defect to APC in Jigawa, Says Namadi

Date:

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has announced that more than 2,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Maigatari Local Government Area.

Speaking during a weekly citizens’ engagement programme in Maigatari, the governor said the mass defection would further strengthen the APC’s base in the state. He also revealed plans to partner with the Federal Government to remodel the Maigatari Export Processing Zone and address recurring flooding in surrounding communities.

The APC Deputy Chairman in Jigawa, Nasiru Dahiru, reaffirmed the party’s support for Namadi and cautioned members against acts of sabotage. He warned that anyone found working against the administration’s progress would face disciplinary measures.
