Reps to probe N500m Chibok School Rebuilding Funds
The Federal House of Representatives on Wednesday resolved to investigate how the N500 million Chibok school rebuilding funds was spent.
The resolution followed the validation of a motion sponsored by Hon. Satomi Ahmed at the plenary.
It would be recalled that Boko Haram had abducted over 200 schoolgirls from the college on 14th April 2014.
Ahmed who led the debate on the motion disclosed how former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration released the sun of N500 million to rebuild the secondary school.
He said: “Since seven years after the foundation laying service of the safe school initiative and declaration of a N500 million fund by the government for the rehabilitation of the Chibok School, nothing has been done in the school and the school remain closed.
“Therefore, Reps must investigate what happened to the N500 million Chibok School Rebuilding Funds and the Safe School Initiative Project.”
