The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has dismissed former Governor Aminu Tambuwal as “politically retired,” accusing him of lacking an independent political base.
State APC Chairman, Sadiq Achida, made the remarks on Monday while briefing journalists in Sokoto.
He alleged that Tambuwal’s political rise was largely due to the influence of godfathers, particularly Senator Aliyu Wamakko, and argued that his political future was uncertain.
“No Abuja alliance, no media propaganda, no recycled coalition can revive a politician whose only legacy is propaganda and a collapsed state,” Achida said.
The APC chairman further claimed that Tambuwal deliberately avoided a formal handover to his successor in 2023 to evade accountability for what he described as a state littered with incomplete projects.
