The family of a 35-year-old man, Saheed Adekunle Yusuff, has raised alarm over his prolonged disappearance, expressing deep concern and calling on security agencies to assist in locating him.
Yusuff, a resident of Elolad Estate, Ologuneru in Ibadan, Oyo State, was last seen by relatives in 2024. According to his elder sister, Ms. Fatima Bolaji Yusuff, all efforts to trace his whereabouts since then have been unsuccessful.
Speaking to journalists in Ibadan on Monday, Ms. Yusuff suggested that her brother’s disappearance might be connected to a family inheritance dispute. She alleged that Saheed had received repeated threats from a politically connected uncle, who was pressuring him over documents proving ownership of land inherited from their late father.
“The threats did not stop. They were still after his life because he held important land documents. There were even several attacks on our family,” she said.
Fatima further disclosed that the family lost a cousin, Olusegun Olawuyi, following an alleged assault linked to the same uncle. Olawuyi reportedly died from injuries sustained during the attack after being rushed to Adeoyo Hospital.
“We haven’t seen Saheed since Olusegun’s death. Shockingly, even as we search for him, Olalekan Kazeem Yusuff is still threatening us to produce him,” she added.
The case was reported at Eleyele Police Station in Ibadan, but Saheed’s location remains unknown. The family is appealing to security authorities to urgently intervene and help ensure Saheed’s safety.
