Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has stirred conversation with his claim that no Nigerian actress can afford a Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) solely from acting.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Solade argued that the Nigerian movie industry does not generate the kind of revenue that could fund such extravagant purchases.
“It is possible from producing, but not from acting — except they have a side hustle. Because how much are they going to pay you for acting? 50 million?” he questioned.
The actor, however, noted that some luxury cars owned by actresses may come as gifts.
“Then again, some are gifts, I want to believe so. Yes now, dem fit gift person G-Wagon,” he added.
Solade’s comments come weeks after he made headlines for saying his life has improved since he stopped attending church.
