2025 NWFL women’s championship to hold in Abia

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has confirmed that the 2025 Women’s Championship will take place in Abia State from September 11 to 21.

The second-tier women’s league, known as the Championship, will feature 17 registered clubs competing for promotion to the top flight.

According to NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, the teams will be drawn into four groups ahead of the tournament’s kick-off.

The competition provides a pathway for clubs seeking advancement to the Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership, with four promotion slots available for the 2025/2026 season.
