FIFA has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated 2026 World Cup qualifying clash between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
The Group C blockbuster will be held at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, South Africa, with kick-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m. GMT (5:00 p.m. Nigeria time, 6:00 p.m. local time).
Gordon Savic, FIFA’s Head of Qualifiers and International Matches, made the announcement as both teams continue their fierce battle for the sole qualification ticket to North America.
The 46,000-capacity venue—formerly known as Vodacom Park and Free State Stadium—was one of the iconic grounds during the 2010 FIFA World Cup and is expected to be packed for this decisive fixture.
With Group C still wide open, the encounter could prove pivotal in determining who advances to the 2026 finals in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
