The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, ( NSCIA) Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III , on Friday joined other Muslim Ummah in the Ilorin Emirate and beyond in a special jumat prayer held at the Ilorin Jumat Mosque.
Also, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari and members of the Ilorin Council, traditional title holders, groups and associations were present in the Mosque together with Dr. Zakir Niek.
The two rakat jumat prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr. Muhammad Bashir Imam Soliu even as he admonished Muslims to continue to pray for Global peace and harmony.
He advised politicians to make life meaningful to the less privileged in the society stressing that everything on earth will vanish on day even as he advised them to emulate the good conducts exhibited by past national heroes.
Imam Bashir also challenged leaders to have the fear of God in their hearts and understand the fact that people are suffering in Nigeria noting that there is need for peoples oriented policies to be adopted for the benefit of the entire humanity.
