Kwara NUJ condoles Senator Sadiq Umar over father’s demise
The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commiserated with the Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Pharmacist Sadiq Suleiman Umar, over the transition of his father, Alhaji Suleiman Mora Omar.
The union described the demise of Alhaji Omar, a one-time Secretary of the state Muslim Pilgrims Board as unfortunate.
In a statement, the state Chairman of NUJ, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed and Assistant Secretary, Mahmood Olayinka Alaya, identified the deceased as a community leader, who contributed significantly to the development of ancient Kaiama town.
It noted that Alhaji Omar also proved his mettle as a top-notch employee in the state civil service having risen to become the scribe of the state Muslim Pilgrims Board.
The union observed that the deceased leveraged on his wealth of experience to groom and mentor a number of young civil servants under his tutelage, adding that his legacy will endure.
The state NUJ expressed delight that Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar, one of the children of the deceased, has continued to exhibit the lofty ideals that his father stood for with his track record of achievements as a legislator in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
It prayed the Almighty Allah to grant Alhaji Omar eternal bliss and give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.
