“Say a Prayer for my father”: Rahama Sadau announces loss

Popular Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau is mourning the death of her father, Alhaji Ibrahim Sadau, who passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2025.

The actress broke the news in an emotional post on X (formerly Twitter), where she appealed to fans and well-wishers for prayers.

“22-06-2025. Kindly say a prayer for my father. May Jannatul Firdaus be his final abode. Ameen thumma Ameen,” she wrote.

Although she did not disclose the cause of his death, the announcement was met with widespread sympathy from fans, colleagues, and celebrities across the entertainment industry. Many offered condolences through heartfelt messages, Quranic prayers, and words of comfort.

Rahama, 31, is one of northern Nigeria’s most celebrated film stars. She began her acting career in school productions before rising to prominence in 2013 with her breakout role in the Kannywood film Gani Ga Wane.

Her father, whom she often credited as a supportive figure in her life, was known for his quiet influence and encouragement throughout her career.

Further details about burial arrangements have not yet been made public.
