The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a Chinese national, Chen Wang, who was stabbed to death in his office earlier this year.
Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd. in Ogere, Ogun State, was killed on January 12, 2025. A police statement issued Tuesday by Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and shared by Ogun State Command spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest of Yunusa Abdullahi, 25, and Peace Keno Danlami, 20.
According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that Wang sustained multiple fatal stab wounds to the chest. The suspects, believed to be factory workers and romantically involved, allegedly tampered with the company’s security system, accessed Wang’s office, and carried out the attack during an overtime shift.
The statement added that the suspects later burgled Wang’s residence using stolen keys and fled Ogun State with cash. Following weeks of surveillance and intelligence work, operatives tracked them to Jos, Plateau State, where they were arrested on July 14 while using false identities.
The arrest was made possible through a coordinated effort involving the Nigeria Police Force Technical Intelligence Unit and the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran. Investigators relied on digital forensics, biometric analysis, and human intelligence to trace the fugitives.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the professionalism of the Ogun State Command and reiterated the force’s commitment to safeguarding both citizens and foreign nationals. The suspects are currently in custody and will be arraigned once investigations are concluded.
