Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command have successfully repelled a bandit attack and rescued two kidnapped victims in Gago village, Dutsinma Local Government Area.

The incident occurred around 1:42 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2025, when armed bandits stormed the rural community, according to a report shared Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X (formerly Twitter).

Acting on a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Dutsinma led a rapid-response team, including an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) patrol unit, to the scene. The officers engaged the attackers in a gun battle, successfully forcing them to flee.

Two abducted residents, identified as 47-year-old Sada Yahaya and 31-year-old Zuwaira Sada, were rescued unhurt during the operation.

Police authorities praised the quick response of the patrol team and reaffirmed their commitment to protecting communities across Katsina State.

The command also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies promptly.
