ABUJA – The Federal Government has unveiled “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation” as the official theme for the country’s 2025 Independence Day celebrations. The announcement was made on Wednesday in Abuja by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
The theme underscores the importance of unity, collaboration, and patriotism among government institutions, the private sector, civil society, and citizens to promote national peace, prosperity, and progress. It also reflects Nigeria’s resilience since independence in 1960 and the need to consolidate past achievements while pursuing ambitious goals under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Government agencies and partners are expected to align their programmes with the theme to ensure its message resonates nationwide. Planned activities include a Juma’at prayer on Friday, September 26, an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28, and a World Press Conference on Monday, September 29, all in Abuja.
