Victor Osimhen has described Galatasaray’s victory over Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League as a remarkable achievement, DAILY POST reports.
The Turkish Super Lig champions edged past Arne Slot’s men with a 1-0 win at the RAMS Park on Tuesday night.
Osimhen scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the 16th minute — his first-ever goal in the competition for Galatasaray. The strike also made him the highest-scoring Nigerian in Champions League history.
The Super Eagles striker was named Man of the Match for his performance.
“Frankly, I want to congratulate the team first. It was a very tough opponent for us, and many people, except for the fans here, didn’t really believe we would win,” Osimhen told the club’s official website.
“We managed to pull together as a team.”
