Fubara Swears In Five Advisers, Reaffirms Commitment to Governance

Date:

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to move forward and recover lost ground, saying he remains resilient and focused on delivering the mandate entrusted to him by the people of the state.

Fubara made the remarks on Friday at the Government House in Port Harcourt during the swearing-in of five new special advisers. Those appointed are Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Prof. Peter Medee, Emmanuel Frank Fubara, Victor Ekaro and Darlington Orji.

The governor urged the advisers to work collectively and remain committed to his administration’s vision to ensure effective, people-centred governance. He said the appointments were intended to strengthen teamwork and ensure the smooth functioning of government.

“We are bringing in some persons on board to ensure that the wheels of governance continue to roll smoothly in our state,” Fubara said.

He noted that the appointees were selected because of their familiarity with the philosophy and direction of his administration, having previously worked with him in various capacities.

“They understand the philosophy of this administration, and it will not be difficult to ensure that our goals are achieved,” he added.

Fubara stressed that governance requires discipline, collective effort and shared responsibility, warning against complacency. He described the appointments as an opportunity for meaningful service rather than ceremonial roles.

“Our social agreement with the people of Rivers State is to work, and that is what we have come to do,” the governor said.

He expressed confidence that the advisers would work as a team to advance the administration’s agenda and improve service delivery.

The appointments were approved on Thursday and include two former commissioners who previously served under the administration. The development comes less than 72 hours after a minor cabinet reshuffle, which saw the Commissioner for Sports, Barr. Christopher Green, redeployed to the Ministry of Justice as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
