Acclaimed car dealer, Chinedu Ogbonna apprehended over N8m fraud

An Abuja based business man named Henry Okwuonu has demanded for the refund of N8million which he allegedly gave to an acclaimed car dealer, Mr Chinedu Ogbonna, for purchase of car.

Henry made this demand during an exclusive interview with Royal News correspondent on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to Henry, “money was paid to Ogbonna’s account to purchase Lexus Rx 460 which up till now I have not seen.

“Not only that, I did not see the car, even my money and the guy disappeared and he was no where to be found. I reported the case to the police and he was arrested yesterday.

“I found out at the police station that I was not the only person he duped, as I’m talking now the police is preparing to arraign him before the court.”

Meanwhile, Mr Ogbonna the alleged fraudster, according to the statement he wrote at the station, accepted that he did business with Mr Henry.

Ogbonna explained that he has been friends with Henry since secondary school and that they attend the same church, adding that truly they did business together which was not successful.

“He contacted me to buy a Lexus Rx 460 for him which we agreed with the deposit of 8million Naira, he transferred the money into my GTbank account.

“But on the process of purchasing the car, it was not available for the fresh one which we bargained, I provided to get a replacement which also failed.”
