Ademola Lookman Wins 2024 African Player of the Year

Super Eagles and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has been named the 2024 African Men’s Player of the Year at the CAF Awards held on Monday at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco.

Lookman’s remarkable performances in 2024 included three goals and two assists that propelled Nigeria to the Africa Cup of Nations final in Côte d’Ivoire. He also delivered a stunning hat-trick in Atalanta’s 3-0 UEFA Europa League final victory over Bayer Leverkusen in May, securing the Italian club’s first European trophy.

Named as the UEFA Europa League Team of the Year

18 goal contributions in Serie A last season

16 goal contributions in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League so far this season
