Agency partners NUJ for quality healthcare services in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHM) is to partner with Nigeria Union of journalists (NUJ) Kaduna state council for quality service delivery, education and enrollment.

 

The Director General of the authority, Abubakar Hassan disclosed this during a courtesy visit to Hajiya Asmau Halilu led executive council at the Union’s secretariat on Thursday.

 

He said the support of the Union became imperative for the benefits of education of the populace on what the scheme entails and its importance to residents.

 

According to him, enrollment would not be achieved without the right communication that would also guaranteed quality service delivery.

 

The DG, in company of his team explained that Kaduna state contributory health scheme is a way of contributing funds for the payment of healthcare services by residents of the state.

 

According to him, the scheme was set up by the state government to reduce financial burden and pressure of out-of-pocket expenditure when a member of the family registered under the scheme fell sick.

“There’ll be no need to run around for money to pay hospital bill because you’re already covered with a little contribution of N10, 650 yearly registration”, he said.

 

He also explained that the scheme is like a solidarity scheme where the healthy subsidized for the sick, the rich for the poor and the young for the eldest as the scheme is for everybody including children, students and civilian.

 

Accordingly, he said the scheme provided a wide range of healthcare services such as outpatientto residents, “No limit, as long as the Kaduna state contributory health scheme law No.7 2017 mandate all residents”.

 

Earlier, while he congratulating the chairman, Asamau Halilu and her executive members for the female change of leadership, the DG was optimistic that the Union should expect serious transformation of the council.

 

Responding, the council chairman Haliya Halilu who sincerely appreciated the DG and his team for the visit said assured them of the Union’s full support, adding that he will also encouraged her members to register with the scheme.
