The General Council of Anambra Independent Football League (AIFL) has stripped Udala FC of Uke of its Season 4 league title over non-payment of participation fee, according to a communique issued at the end of its meeting on Wednesday in Awka.

AIFL is an amateur football league in Anambra, organized and managed by a group of football technocrats.

Udala had won the league ahead of DOSAD FC, Rangel FC and Ozalla FC to emerge winners three consecutive times and to keep the trophy.

Dynamic FC, Aguluzigbo, was also withdrawn from participating in the Season 4 league for not paying its registration fee.

“The council after a tough and comprehensive deliberation have withdrawn Udala FC and Dynamic FC for non-payment of registration fee for Season 4.

“For the two teams to be eligible to play in Season 5, they will have to pay in full the registration fees for both Seasons 4 and 5’’, it said.

The communiqué added that because of the withdrawal of Udala FC and Dynamic FC, the Season 4 title had been awarded to DOSAD FC.

It said all clubs willing to take part in Season 5, due to begin on Dec.4, have until Nov. 20 to complete all registration processes.

“The council also adopted Nov. 20 as the deadline for submission of data by teams for licensing and also approved the registration of 50 players for the new season,” it stated.

Meanwhile, the council has constituted a panel of inquiry into incidents during the finals of Season 4 with a view to applying appropriate sanctions, the communique said.
