The Court of Appeal has upheld the judgment of the Federal High Court restraining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from conducting its national convention.
In a ruling delivered on Monday in Abuja, the appellate court dismissed an appeal filed by a faction of the party led by Taminu Turaki.
The Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC), which claims leadership of the opposition party, emerged from the PDP convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The court also awarded a cost of N2 million against Turaki and other members of the faction who filed the appeal.
The judgment followed consolidated appeals arising from the PDP national convention held on November 15 and 16, 2022, where the leadership dispute within the party originated.
