Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided fresh injury updates on his squad ahead of the Gunners’ Premier League match against Sunderland this weekend.
Arsenal could open a nine-point lead at the top of the table if they beat Sunderland, before second-placed Manchester City face Liverpool.
Arteta confirmed that Bukayo Saka will miss the game due to a hip injury that has already ruled him out of recent matches against Leeds and Chelsea.
“His hip is improving a lot. Hopefully, he’ll be ready soon,” Arteta said.
The Spanish coach also shared positive updates on club captain Martin Ødegaard and defender Jurrien Timber.
“Martin is getting better and will be back in a few days, and Jurrien is fit for the weekend,” he added.
The updates will come as a boost to Arsenal fans as the club pushes to strengthen its position at the top of the Premier League table.
