“Atiku Can Secure Tickets, But Not Elections” APC Chieftain Fires Shots

Date:

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former National Organizing Secretary, Prof. Ussiju Medaner, has criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alleging that while Atiku excels at securing presidential tickets, he lacks the grassroots political machinery needed to win a general election.

Speaking on Friday during Arise Television’s Morning Show, Prof. Medaner responded to claims that opposition parties like the African Democratic Congress (ADC) were simply “making noise” and lacked structure.

“If you look at some of the opposition activities, it’s just noise,” he said. “They’re not putting their house in order. Election is not about shouting—it’s about strategic thinking.”

Using Atiku as an example, Medaner stated: “Atiku knows how to secure a ticket, but he doesn’t have the people who can deliver victory at the polls.”

Drawing from his experience during the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) era, Medaner added, “I was in CPC and supported Buhari. But we didn’t have the kind of political presence that could win a national election at the time—that was our biggest setback. You need more than ambition; you need the people who can actually win.”
