Atiku reacts to Benue varsity students’ abduction

The Nigeria ex-presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the abduction of Benue varsity students, as he warned of imminent danger over the continuous attacks on schools in the country.

Atiku explained while expressing his sadness over the persistent problem going on and said darkness awaits Nigerians if the attacks on schools are not restrained.

He added while condemning the abduction of three students of the University of Agriculture in Makurdi, Benue State, yesterday.

The ex-vice president voiced out that the latest abduction was one too many.

He divulged this in a statement titled: “Darkness awaits us if we don’t end the attacks on our citadels of learning.”

He then called the situaltion an unacceptable escalation, adding that, “we must ensure that the abducted youths are rescued and do every possible best to prevent future reoccurrences.

“We must allow this to be our new regular because it is time for us to face reality.

“A catastrophe that must be decisively dealt with before it snowballs into an existential crisis.

“We have to stop these treaty acts of criminality with gloves. There must be the safety of lives and property in our citadels of learning.
