A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje has hailed the Code of Conduct Tribunal’s (CCT) judgement on false assets declaration allegation levelled against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

He said  the outcome of Saraki’s trial by CCT did not come as a surprise, because it was a mere political persecution.

Baraje said Saraki’s vindication has renewed the people’s confidence in the country’s judiciary system.

A statement  from the media office of the APC Chieftain, said “this is the celebration of hopes to Nigerian citizens especially the innocent people.”

Baraje said despite politically motivated trial to cause distractions for the 8th Senate under the leadership of  Saraki, the Senate has achieved so much in the last two years through  legislation and passage of bills that are crucial to the development of the country.

He, therefore, congratulated the Senate President on his victory at the CCT and sued for the support of Nigerians for the National Assembly to enable the lawmakers fast track the development of the country.

The APC chieftain called for unity among the people of Kwara state, irrespective of  political or religious leanings.

He also advocated a cordial  working relationship between the three arms of government towards realizing the campaign promises of the APC- led administration.
