New Chelsea signing Estevao has revealed why he opted to join the Premier League club, despite interest from European giants like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Arsenal.
Chelsea officially unveiled the 18-year-old Brazilian on Tuesday evening after completing his transfer from Palmeiras.
The highly rated winger was one of the most sought-after teenage talents in world football, with top clubs across Europe eager to secure his signature. However, Estevao says it was Chelsea’s vision and project that convinced him and his family.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Estevao said:
“Their plans, the structure and the club – everything. But mainly the plans and the project the club has is what interested me and my family, and I think it was the best decision we could have made.
The teenager also expressed his ambition to win major trophies with the Blues.
“[My long-term goals at Chelsea are] I want to win all the titles possible: the Premier League and the Champions League as well.
Estevao is expected to join Chelsea’s first-team setup in the near future and is seen as a key part of the club’s future under manager Enzo Maresca.
