Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan delivered a commanding performance at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday, storming to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles with a new meet record of 12.45 seconds.
The 2022 World Champion shattered the previous record of 12.51 seconds set by American Brianna McNeal in 2018. Amusan’s winning time also marks her season’s best, further cementing her status as one of the world’s top hurdlers.
Although the race was held just before the event’s main broadcast window, Amusan’s electrifying run was anything but under the radar. She pulled ahead early and maintained a decisive lead over the field, crossing the line well ahead of her closest competitors.
Nadine Visser of the Netherlands followed in second with a season-best time of 12.67 seconds, while Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska placed third in 12.69 seconds, also a season’s best.
