The group represented 36 states and Abuja, in a press conference in kaduna on Tuesday raised alarm of alleged plots by the leadership of MACBAN to imposed Usman Baba Ngelzerma, who’s the current national secretary of the association, on the body as president, describing the move as parlours and unfortunate status- quo of the leadership.

In a speech presented by the protein chairman and secretary of the youth, Alh. Abdulkarim Bayero and Alh. Abubakar Ibrahim, the group called on the Emirs of Sokoto, Kano, Zazzau, Katsina and Lamido of Adamawa, who are critical Board of Trustees of the association, to intervene.

According to them, Mr Usman Baba is among the current leadership of MACBAN who mismanaged and misappropriated the vision, mission and responsibilities of the association.

“That the youth have clearly and unequivocally renounced and also rejected the purported plots by the leadership of MACBAN to impose against our collective will, the National Secretary. Mr. Usman Baba Ngelzerma, as the
President of the Association inspites of the fact that he is among the torch bearers of the numerous problems and challenges that have been stultifying the progress and achievements of the association; we reject that!

“That, it is revealing to note that the present leadership has been withholding, concealing and trading of vital information to the governments, traditional institutions against the collective members of this association for cheap political and personal advantages.

“This untoward attitudes and body
language have inflicted deep wounds in the minds of the members, denied them effective response of security agencies and amicable solutions by traditional and stakeholders in solving the remotes and immediate problems of the entire Fulani communities that come under the umbrella of MACBAN, are facing”, they lamented.

The group further stated that, the leadership has been compromised politically by peddling false loyalty and support of the entire Fulani communities scattered across the Geopolitical
zones of Nigeria.

“This action has caused great damage and destruction of community relationship and mutual harmony to the collective
wellbeing of Majority of our people.

“Our prayers are to the fathers of our most respected traditional and religious bodies and institutions especially the sultanate and respected Emirs mentioned above to get involved in the issues at stake in order to mitigate and avert avoidable dissention and disintegration of the much revered association which serves as an umbrella for the Fulani Emancipation as an entity.

“The present leadership must be compelled to vacate their positions and allow for free and fair election to hold, while handing over their responsibilities to the leadership of the Board of Trustees (BOTs) effectively”, they added.

The chairman said after critically assessing, appraising and considering the past and
present performance of the leadership in a lengthy meeting, the MACBAN youth arrived at a collective conclusion as below:

“That, His Eminence, Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji (DR) Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero, the Emir of Zazzau Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Lamido of Adamawa Alh. Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha and the Emir of Katsina Alh. Abdulmuminu Kabiru Usman Nagoggo, who were incidentally are part of the critical Board of Trustees should be made to be aware of the level of mismanagement and misappropriation of the vision, mission and responsibilities reposed on the leadership of the MACBAN”.
