Alex Iwobi has joined an exclusive group of Nigerian stars in the Premier League after registering an assist during Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
The midfielder delivered the pass for substitute Emile Smith Rowe’s equaliser, taking his overall tally to 67 goal contributions in the English topflight—31 goals and 36 assists.
The 29-year-old becomes only the third Nigerian player to reach this milestone, following Shola Ameobi and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Among Nigerians, only Yakubu Aiyegbeni, with 121 goal contributions, and Nwankwo Kanu, with 83, boast higher numbers than the trio.
Iwobi not only provided the assist but also impressed throughout the game, completing the full 90 minutes against Manchester United.
