Ghana to Host 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations

Date:

Ghana has been confirmed as the host of the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, marking the second time the country will stage the continental youth football tournament.

The competition, which will feature 12 teams, also serves as the qualification pathway for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Ghana previously hosted the tournament in 1999, where its national youth team, the Black Satellites, won the title on home soil after defeating Nigeria’s Flying Eagles 2–0 in the final.

The 2027 edition is expected to attract top youth teams from across Africa, with defending champions South Africa U-20 National Team set to return to defend their title in the biennial competition.

The Africa U-20 Cup of Nations remains one of the continent’s key youth tournaments, serving as a major platform for discovering emerging football talents and preparing players for senior international competitions.
