The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General PB Koughna, has conducted a familiarisation tour of troops deployed in parts of Kebbi State.
The visit, which took place on March 15, included an inspection of personnel of CSI Battalion III at the Forward Operating Base in Dirin Daji, located in Sakaba area of Zuru Local Government Area, as well as troops of the 223 Light Tank Battalion.
During the tour, the GOC was received by commanding officers of the respective units, who briefed him on ongoing operations and the security situation within their areas of responsibility.
Addressing the troops, Maj. Gen. Koughna commended their efforts and urged them to remain vigilant, disciplined, and professional in carrying out their duties.
He also held a strategic meeting with unit commanders to review operational progress and discuss prevailing security challenges across the region.
The tour concluded without incident, with the GOC reiterating the need for sustained alertness and readiness among troops to respond effectively to emerging threats.
