Israeli military captures ‘Jamaa Islamiya’ senior terrorist

The Israeli military has announced the arrest of a senior member of the Jamaa Islamiya terrorist organisation during an overnight operation in the Har Dov area.

 

In a statement posted on X on Monday, the Israel Defense Forces, IDF, said the suspect was apprehended in a targeted, intelligence-led operation carried out by its troops.

 

According to the IDF, the arrested individual was transferred to Israel for further interrogation, while weapons were also recovered at the scene.

 

The military added that Jamaa Islamiya has been involved in carrying out attacks against Israel and civilians in the northern part of the country since the start of the ongoing conflict.

 

It wrote: “APPREHENDED: A senior terrorist from the Jamaa Islamiya terrorist organization was apprehended overnight by IDF troops during a targeted intelligence-based operation in the Har Dov area.

 

“The terrorist was transferred for further questioning in Israel. Weapons were also located at the site.

 

“Throughout the war, the Jamaa Islamiya terrorist organization advanced terror attacks against Israel and its civilians in the north.”
