Kaduna Farmer Loses Hand in Bandit Attack

Date:

Abdulkarim, a farmer in Kubau Local Government Area, Kaduna State, was left severely injured after armed bandits amputated his hand while he worked on his farm.

The attack occurred on Friday evening, according to security analyst Bakatsine, who shared the incident on X on Monday. Reports indicate the violence followed a confrontation between Abdulkarim and the assailants on his dry-season farm.

The incident highlights the growing insecurity faced by farmers in Kaduna, where banditry and rural attacks have become increasingly common.

Authorities have not yet issued a statement on the attack or the assailants involved.

Bakatsine questioned the persistent threat to rural livelihoods, asking: “How long will farmers continue to pay the price for insecurity in their own fields?”
